SPRING 2026
GENERAL ELECTIONS

Candidate Statements

President (1)

Kamelin Jomehpour
Hello Woodsworth!

My name is Kamelin, and I’m excited to be running for President of the Woodsworth
College Students’ Association. Woodsworth has been such an important part of my
university experience. It gave me a community where I felt welcomed, supported, and
connected on a campus that can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I want to work to
ensure that every Woodsworth student has the opportunity to feel that same sense of
belonging and support during their time here.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of serving Woodsworth students in several
roles. As Associate of Social Affairs, I helped plan and promote events like Red Party and
Ski Trip that brought students together. Over the past year, as Vice President of External
Affairs, I worked closely with Woodsworth clubs and student leaders to strengthen
collaboration, improve outreach, and help clubs connect with more students across the
college.

Vice President of Internal Affairs (1)

Hattrick Cota-Schury
Hello Woodsworth, my name is Hattrick and I’m running for the Vice President of Internal
Affairs position. I’m currently a second year going into my third, and I am a Math and
Physics student. You may recognize me from WCSA Wednesdays where I was serving
pancakes, or at a lot of WCSA and residence events! I also was involved with the
Orientation Week this year where I was not only a leader, but also Shaver! I love being a
part of this community and want to stay a part of it as the VP for Internal Affairs. I can’t’
wait to help keep our Woodsworth community amazing.

Vice President of Social Affairs (1)

Mark Michisor
Hey Woodsworth!! I am running for your vice president of Social affairs!! In my time as an
associate of this role, I have sought ways to host events cultivated for the students. Events
where you can destress from school, meet new friends, and try new experiences. I will
bring events that work within your schedules and interests, and initiatives that are targeted
to your passions. I plan on opening an Ad-hoc committee so that more students can have a
chance to gain experience organizing events, and build a stronger community. Mark your
ballots Michisor, as you vote for a driven and determined VP of social affairs who's not
afraid to get his hands dirty!

Vice President of Financial Affairs (1)

Victoria Trang
Hi everyone! My name is Victoria, and I’m running for Director of Finance for the
Woodsworth College Student Association.

This past year, I served as Director of Financial Affairs, where I supported budgeting and
financial planning for WCSA. Through this role, I gained a strong understanding of our
financial processes and how to manage student funds responsibly.

If elected, I hope to continue ensuring WCSA’s finances remain transparent, organized,
and focused on supporting great initiatives for the Woodsworth community. Thank you for
your support!

Vice President of External Affairs (1)

Amy Miao

My name is Amy, and I’m excited to run for Vice-President of External Affairs! I’ve loved
being involved in the Woodsworth community as Community Outreach and Sustainability
Director on WCSA, a House Representative in residence, a Wellness Wayfinder with the
Dean’s Office, and a member of the Orientation 2025-26 Logistics Committee. Recently, I
organized a sustainability thrift sale that raised over $350 for UNICEF Canada and worked
on outreach efforts related to food security and sustainability. I truly love the Woodsworth
community, including the wonderful people here and the support I’ve received, and I hope
to give that same support back to Woodsworth students. If elected, I hope to strengthen
Woodsworth’s external partnerships, support student initiatives through the Individual
Initiative Grant, and ensure that Woodsworth students are well-represented across
campus! Go Wolfpack!!

Vice President of Athletic Affairs (1)

Ariel Chiappetta
Hey Woodsworth!

My name is Ariel, and I’m a second year Human Biology major running for the position of
Vice President of Athletic Affairs.

This past year I served on the board as Associate of Athletic Affairs, and that experience
inspired me to take the next step in supporting athletics within our college. Through helping
organize intramurals and Woodsworth’s ski trip, I gained valuable insight into what
students enjoy, how they engage with programming, and the work that goes into making
these events successful.

As Vice President of Athletic Affairs, I hope to build on that experience by increasing
student participation in our athletic programming. Intramurals and athletic events are a
great way to take a break from studying, stay active, and connect with new people in the
Woodsworth community. I want to continue expanding opportunities for students to get
involved, whether they’re competitive athletes or just looking for a fun way to unwind with
friends.

Vice President of Public Relations(1)

Daisy Yao

Hey Woodsworth! My name is Daisy and I'm running for Vice President of Public Relations.

This last year, I served as the Associate Director of Public Relations for WCSA,
collaborating to output the best graphics to inform our community of exciting events. I was
also a Marketing Executive for Orientation, where I was behind every single reel posted
leading up to and during orientation! If elected, let me cook on our merch graphics too.

I'm really passionate about artistic expression and have ran many art related events for
WCSA like Paint for your Pookie and Brushes and Bubble tea :) I hope to continue to be
able to run events like these to serve as an outlet for socializing and academic destress. As
a First Year Students' Director, I also hosted various socials to connect the Woodsworth
community, of course fillings our tummies too.

Thank you for reading and good luck to everyone in this election.

Jessica Lee
Hi woodsworth! My name is Jessica Lee, and I'm excited to be running for Vice President of
Public Relations for WCSA as I am passionate about strengthening the connection
between the student body and the opportunities within our college community.
Over the past years, I have had the opportunity to get involved as an Upper year student
director, Woodsworth Leader Relations Director and Leader, Marketing for the WCSA
annual gala. Through these roles, I gained experience in promoting events, managing
outreach, and engaging students through clear and creative communication. These
experiences showed me how important strong public relations are in ensuring students
feel informed, included, and excited to participate in college life.
If elected, my goal is to help make WCSA communications more accessible, engaging, and
transparent.

Associate Director of External Affairs (1)

Deepika Verma
Hi everyone! My name is Deepika Verma, and I’m a first-year Rotman Commerce student
running for Associate Director of External Affairs with the Woodsworth College Student
Association.

Woodsworth has already become an important community for me at UofT, and I want to
help strengthen the connections between our college and the broader campus. As
Associate Director of External Affairs, I plan to build meaningful partnerships with other
colleges, student groups, and organizations to expand opportunities, events, and
collaborations for Woodsworth students.

I’m passionate about creating spaces where students can meet, connect, and feel part of
a strong community. I would love the opportunity to represent Woodsworth and help
expand our reach across campus.

I appreciate your support!

Edward Laposata
Hey Woodsworth! I'm running for Associate Director of External Affairs because I believe
clubs are better when they actually talk to and work with each other.

Through debate, policy competitions, and working across different student organizations
throughout my first year here at UofT, I've seen how much potential gets left on the table when clubs and events operate in isolation. When groups collaborate by sharing ideas, co- hosting events, and building on each other's work, the whole community grows stronger.

As Associate Director of External Affairs, I'd focus on creating touchpoints between clubs,
whether that's structured collaboration opportunities or just making sure clubs know what
others are up to. Moreover, creating better channels for clubs to share what they're doing
will foster collaboration so students encounter more communities naturally, and lower the
barriers that stop people from showing up in the first place.

Zoya Babicheva
Hello Woodsworth! My name is Zoya Babicheva, and I am running to be your Associate
External for the 2026-2027 school year. Throughout my 2 years at WCSA, I have had the
pleasure of serving the Woodsworth community, first during my tenure as the Services &
Initiatives Assistant (SIA) and then as this year’s Equity Commissioner, where I have
worked alongside my fellow EC Hoogol to monitor Executive and Board Meetings to ensure
that they meet the standards for equity as outlined in the constitution. I also participated in
the event approval process to ensure all event planning has considered equity, diversity,
inclusivity, and accessibility, and ran events focused on EDIA such as the Black History
Month Movie Night. It would be my honour to use my skills and passion to contribute to a
smooth-running board next year and to continue to work with an amazing team.

Associate Director of Public Relations (2)

Ashleen Jassal
Ever missed a campus event because you didn’t hear about it in time?

Hi, I’m Ashleen, a first-year student who is passionate about connecting students and
supporting student voices. With my background in graphic design, I understand how
creative visuals and clear messaging can make information more engaging and accessible.
I want to help make sure students always know about the opportunities and events
happening around them.

As Associate Director of Public Relations, I hope to strengthen communication, highlight
student initiatives, and help build a more connected Woodsworth community. ?

Heidi Law
Hello! My name is Heidi. I’m a first-year student at Rotman Commerce, and I’m running for
Associate Director of Public Relations for the Woodsworth College Students’ Association!

This year, I’ve really enjoyed being a first-year rep for Woodsworth Residence Council, and
working across various Woodsworth teams, including the Awards Gala and the Tax Clinic,
has made me eager to contribute to the Woodsworth community even more.

I’ve designed many clothing pieces before and am excited to help with the creation of new
Woodsworth merchandise and board sweaters. In addition, building on my previous
engagement experience, I’ll ensure our digital presence is visually engaging and that every
student is informed about our events and elections. I really hope to support upcoming
projects to help make Woodsworth an even more welcoming and connected place for
everyone.

Macy Mercado
Hey guys! My name is Macy Mercado, and I’m committed to bringing you:
? Aesthetic merch designs!

? Clear communication on all important events!

? With experience in yearbook cover/page designing, creating vector graphics for club
merchandise, and working within formatting/time restrictions for a provincial graphic
design competition (I placed silver!), my general knowledge in digital media and video
production will be a great asset to WCSA’s team if given the chance.

? The worst feeling in my first year was finding out about opportunities right after they
passed; an experience I’m sure was common. Information should be easily accessible and
never lacking in coverage, so I will make it my main priority to promote upcoming
events/dates in advance and repeatedly across multiple avenues, both online and
physical.

Nayra Kore
Hi! I’m Nayra, a candidate for Associate Director of Public Relations.

You might know me as your WCSA First-Year Students Director, an active member of
Woodsworth Residence, or the girl who kept trying to drag people to her event :)

My persistent involvement in the Woodsworth community is a testament to my dedication
towards community building and helping members of this college feel more integrated. It is
often very easy to feel disconnected with your bigger college community, if elected I’ll
continue to work towards cultivating a stronger sense of belonging through advocating for
increased engagement, events feedback, and online presence. Equipped with
commitment and past experiences (e.g. non-profit, mentorship, managing and editing
social media), I’ll navigate this role responsibly, confidently and with humility.

Check out @nayra4wcsa for more about me !! Vote Nayra 4 WCSA !! :D

Equity Commissioner (2)

Nandini Murali
Hi everyone! My name is Nandini, and I am running to be your Equity Commissioner! As
someone who has actively participated in dancing, singing, and volunteering since a young
age, I’ve learned how to work in strong teams, and more importantly, the value of building
meaningful connections. These passions have not only brought me joy but also taught me
the power of collaboration, creativity, and compassion.

As your Equity Commissioner, I’ll bring that same energy and dedication here. I hope to
bring more initiatives to build inclusivity and celebrate diversity within Woodsworth
College. I’ll be there to lend a hand in approving events and making sure all event planning
includes all students at Woodsworth College, making Woodsworth an accessible and
inclusive place.
Together, we can make this year unforgettable.

Off-Campus Students’ Director (2)

Drea Wong
Hello! My name is Drea, and I am running to be Off-Campus Director. As a student
currently living in Woodsworth residence, many things are easily accessible, like the study
rooms and our quick walks to classes. However, students living off-campus usually face
longer commutes from home, resulting in less time on campus to study, connect with
peers, or participate in events. As Off-Campus Director, I will do my best to organise
helpful and engaging events catered to students who do not live on campus, and create
opportunities that allow commuters to feel just as included and supported in the
Woodsworth community as those living in residence. I would sincerely appreciate your
support to help make this happen. Thanks!

Professional Development Director (1)

Daniel Rutherford
Hello Woodsworth! My name is Daniel Rutherford, and I am a third-year student double
majoring in Ethics, Society, and Law and Human Geography, with a focus in Planning. Over
the past three years, I have served the Woodsworth community in various roles, including
as a House Representative on the 2023-24 Woodsworth Residence Council, 2024
Orientation Management Committee and current Residence Don at the Woodsworth
Residence. As the current Vice President of Athletic Affairs on WCSA, I organized the
"WCSA x Woodsworth Residence World Series Watch Party" and our marquee annual Ski
Trip with 100+ attendees. In a new role as Professional Development director, my aim is to
plan informative events such as coffee chats and virtual Q+A panels across many fields. I
hope to connect students with resources and networking opportunities, helping determine
the path they want to follow in order to accomplish their goals.

Woodsworth College Residence Director (1)

Areeb Naeem
Having to write this quickly as I have to get back to cooking and cramming for my mid-term
tests ??

A bit about my experience; I am currently part of Woodsworth Residence Council as the
2nd Floor Representative and as part of the Operations Committee. I am also part of the
UofT Governing Council, UTSU Board of Directors, Arts & Science Council and its Agenda
Committee ??

Having enjoyed playing pool at the residence or foosball in the basement, I cannot reiterate
enough how important it is to feel like you have a sense of belonging to a community which
is going to my my main focus ??

As to be fair, UofT has us all stressed and overworked ??

A vote for Areeb; is a vote for a more inclusive, stronger and close-knit community! ???
